The first two phases of Intrawest's new $250-million Village at Squaw Valley—First Ascent and 22 Station—are now open. The European-style pedestrian village has a total of 286 slopeside condominiums, 17 boutique shops and seven restaurants. With the new restaurants in Squaw Valley's pedestrian village adding to the excellent upscale choices at the lodges here, you don't have to leave the resort to get a good meal. For a breathtaking dining experience try Alexander's Cafe at High Camp, guests are required to ride the scenic cable car up 2,000 vertical feet to the top of the mountain, where they dine on a fixed-price, three-course meal overlooking Lake Tahoe. Alternatively the PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn has a cozy fireplace and an excellent selection of wine. When your party feet start itching move on to Bar One for live music, dancing and pool tables. For the best prices of post-slope watering holes check the local papers, regularly advertising half-price drink promotions in the area. |

We had a great holiday. We were very pleased with the apartment and would seriously think of renting it again next year if it were available. Great location and nicely furbished. Thank you very much for making our holiday possible - no other agent was prepared to even consider investigating the possibility of a holiday from Wed to Wed. |
