Rusutsu is about an hour from the resort of Niseko and makes a viable day trip from the larger resort. The slopes over three interlinked mountains are more limited but offer slightly more of a challenge. The snow here is very good and it doesn't get tracked out as quickly as the main resort, Niseko.
