Snow falling in the Alps!

There have been good snowfalls in some parts of the Alps - up to half a metre in certain resorts - and the forecast also looks promising over the next few days.

The photo shows Meribel on Thursday 29th November.

After some Autumn snowfalls a few weeks ago temperatures have been stubbornly warm, so the fresh snow is very timely as some resorts have already opened and many others are due to open in the next week or so.

Temperatures are also forecast to drop - good news for lower resorts and which also means snow cannons can crank into action!
